Thai Cooking Class E: Taste of the Tropics
October 27 @ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Sawadee krub 🙏 I am chef Tom. Please join us in learning how to cook like a Thai chef. We’ll begin the course with glass noodle salad – a simple, refreshing, and popular Thai dish of mung bean noodles, Thai herbs, and other healthy ingredients, all gluten-free. Next, we’ll prepare Thai pineapple-fired rice, a uniquely fragrant and exotic combination of jasmine rice, pineapple, dried fruit, and spices. Finally, we’ll prepare a banana tapioca coconut pudding according to the traditional Thai methods, which uses coconut milk with pandan leaves and tapioca pearls.
I am looking forward to teaching all of you! Khob-khun krub (Thank You)!
Limited to 14 people per class.
Menu
Glass Noodle Salad – Yum Woon Sen (ยำวุ้นเส้น):
A refreshing Thai salad featuring delicate glass noodles tossed with a mix of shrimp, minced pork, and crunchy vegetables. Yum Woon Sen is known for its balance of spicy, tangy, and savoury flavours, with a dressing of fresh lime juice, fish sauce, and chilli, finished with aromatic herbs like cilantro and mint. Light yet satisfying, this dish is perfect for a flavorful, healthy bite.
Thai Pineapple Fried Rice:
The Thai Pineapple Fried Rice is a flavourful combination of juicy pineapple, raisins, cashews, and your choice of chicken or shrimp. Served inside a halved pineapple for an extra touch of elegance, it’s a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds.
Banana Tapioca Coconut Pudding:
A rich and creamy dessert that captures the essence of Thai sweets, the Banana Tapioca Coconut Pudding is a comforting blend of ripe bananas and soft tapioca pearls, simmered in coconut milk and sweetened with palm sugar. Topped with a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds or shredded coconut, this warm, silky pudding is a perfect way to end your Thai meal on a sweet note.
