Traditional Thai Cooking Class

Step into our kitchen for a hands-on Traditional Thai Cooking Class led by our owner and Head Chef, Parinya “Fanta” Loptson! Under Chef Fanta’s expert guidance, you will learn to craft three authentic Thai dishes: the elegant Lah-Tiang, a savoury stuffed flower; the richly spiced Massaman Curry Beef; and the sweetly satisfying Mango Sticky Rice.

During the class, Chef Fanta will introduce you to the essential techniques and ingredients that are the backbone of Thai cuisine, from the piquant to the aromatic. You will master the balance of Thailand’s signature flavours—sweet, sour, spicy, and salty—and learn how to turn fresh ingredients into exquisite meals.

By the end of this session, you will not only have prepared a complete Thai feast but will also be equipped with the skills to recreate these dishes at home, impressing your family and friends with your culinary prowess. So, put on your apron and get ready for a deep dive into the vibrant world of Thai cooking!

Lah-Tiang – Start your culinary journey with Lah-Tiang, an elegant Thai appetizer that charms with its beauty and flavours. This savoury stuffed flower is a delicate creation, filled with a mixture of minced chicken and herbs, lightly seasoned to enhance the natural flavours. Each flower is then gently fried to achieve a delightful crispiness, making it a visually appealing and tasty introduction to Thai cuisine.

Massaman Curry Beef – Indulge in the rich, aromatic world of Massaman Curry Beef, a hearty dish that is a testament to Thailand’s culinary prowess. Tender cuts of beef are slowly cooked in a blend of Massaman curry paste, coconut milk, and a medley of spices including cinnamon, star anise, and cardamom. This curry is further enriched with potatoes and peanuts, offering a robust and comforting dish with layers of complex flavours that are spicy, slightly sweet, and thoroughly satisfying.

Mango Sticky Rice – Conclude your Thai feast on a sweet note with Mango Sticky Rice. This beloved dessert pairs perfectly ripe mango slices with sweet, sticky rice infused with coconut milk. The rice’s soft, chewy texture and the mango’s freshness create a blissful contrast, while a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds adds a subtle crunch. This dessert is not only a treat for the palate but also a refreshing end to a flavourful meal.

Cooking class registrations are non-refundable, but may be transferred with no fees 2 weeks before the date of the class. A $10 fee will be charged for transfers up to 3 days before the class. No refund will be issued for cancellations within 3 days of the class. A minimum number of registrations is required for the class to proceed. Please contact us if you have any questions.
